No hace falta, a menos se desee acceder a alguna función online del juego retrocompatible.

Siempre y cuando las partidas guardadas estén en la nube, si no perderemos nuestro avance. Si nuestro progreso se guardo en la nube podremos hacer uso de las partidas guardadas de los juegos retrocompatibles de Xbox 360.
¿Los DLCS son retrocompatibles?
Si, los DLCs de los juegos retrocompatibles son también retrocompatibles.
¿Puedo descargarme los "Game with Gold" de Xbox 360 y jugarlos en Xbox One?

¿Cómo funciona la retrocompatibilidad?
En caso de los juegos digitales, si los teníamos estos aparecerán directamente en nuestra sección de “Listos para Instalar” en Mis juegos y Aplicaciones > Juegos.
Si no los teníamos se pueden comprar desde nuestra propia tienda. Una vez se compre cualquier juego que sea retrocompatible, este aparecerá en Listos para Instalar.
En caso de los juegos físicos, no hay más que introducir el disco en nuestra Xbox One / Xbox Series, descargar, y jugar.
